Why I’m Still Here on Hive (Even When It’s Not Easy)
When I first joined Hive, I didn’t really know what to expect. I just saw a place where people write, share, and earn a little from it. At that time, I won’t lie, the reward part caught my attention first. It felt interesting that your words could actually bring value back to you.
But after spending some time here, I started to realize it’s not just about that.
There were days I posted and got almost nothing. No big reward, no much engagement. Those were the moments I asked myself, “why am I still here?” It would have been easy to just stop and move on to something else. But somehow, I stayed.
One reason is the freedom. On Hive, I feel like I can write in my own way. I don’t have to be perfect. I don’t have to follow a strict pattern. I can just share my thoughts, my experiences, even when they are not fully organized. That kind of freedom is rare.
Another thing that kept me here is the learning. Not in a classroom way, but real life learning. Reading other people’s stories, seeing how they think, how they express themselves. Sometimes I read something simple and it still teaches me something new. It made me start thinking deeper about my own life too.
The community also plays a part, even if it’s not always obvious. There are people who notice your effort, who encourage you, even in small ways. A comment, a vote, a reply… those things may look small, but they matter. They remind you that you are not just writing into empty space.
My parents always told me, “Stay where you are growing, not just where you are comfortable.” I think that is one reason I’m still here. Hive is not always easy or predictable, but it helps me grow. It pushes me to keep showing up, to keep improving little by little.
Of course, the rewards are still there, and they matter. But they are no longer the only reason.
I’m here because of the journey. The ups and downs, the lessons, the small progress that nobody else sees.
It’s not perfect, but somehow, it feels like a place worth staying.
