If I Could Learn One Korean Tradition, It Would Be Taekwondo
I love Korean’s tradition a lot but the I’d love to learn, it’s definitely Taekwondo. I don’t even know exactly why something about it just feels right to me to choose. It’s not only about fighting or showing off cool kicks. There’s something more deeper to it. It’s about balance, discipline and honestly, those are things I feel I need more of in my life.
The first time I saw Taekwondo wasn’t even planned. I was just scrolling through my phone on videos late at night when quite in time I see this short clip of people training. They were moving together in perfect rhythm every step, every kick was so focused. But what really caught my attention was how they bowed before and after the session.i wonder what this really mean but realized It wasn’t about who was stronger or faster. It was about respect. That part really stuck with me.
Back then, I used to think martial arts were just about fighting with others but like what we see in action movies, people breaking boards and throwing punches, is it. But Taekwondo changed that for me. It made me realize that true strength isn’t about aggression. It’s about control. It’s knowing when to act and when to stay calm. I find that really beautiful.
If I ever get the chance to learn it, I know will really help me with discipline and focus. Sometimes, I struggle with patience life gets noisy and things do mess up and I lose focus easily. But I feel like Taekwondo could help me find stillness inside, even when things around me are chaotic. It’s not just a sport to me; it’s a way to understand yourself better.
Another thing I really admire is how Taekwondo carries so much of Korean culture. It’s built on respect, humility, and perseverance values that I truly admire. I feel like learning it would help me see life differently more calm, more grounded, more aware.
Sometimes I picture myself in a standing barefooted on the mat floor, wearing that white uniform. The hall is quiet. I take a deep breath before training starts. That silence, that focus it feels like peace. I want that feeling.
For me, Taekwondo isn’t about fighting other people. It’s about fighting your own weaknesses, becoming a little bit better every day. I believe learning it could change how I see myself and maybe even how I live my life.
