Less would have been more

The following is my entry for this week's ZapFic50 Challenge. You have to write a story in precisely 50 words, using this week's prompt "overloaded". Here's what I have come up with:
It's a bit dark. I don't know, sometimes you just have to write something dark i guess ;)

The boat was overloaded. If I had been able to turn the last refugee away, maybe I could have saved those who already were on the boat. As it was, I couldn’t say no. I was to weak and let her get on the boat too. It sank. None survived…
