In the last few days, I created again a new logo for a hypothetical business, following the path of a periodical initiative with which I decided to share the steps of the creation process of the corresponding logo. You find the summary of the steps in the paragraphs below. Summarizing, Logobakery is an initiative with which I create simple logos for initial and non-professional use, which can then be purchased in case a hypothetical customer wants to do it.

Novice road signs services

For this initiative I thought of road sign services, playing a little on the meanings of words in my mother language. The final choice fell on the name "Incidenty". Let's see the various steps of creation.

First I opened the vector graphics suite I use, the open-source Inkscape (you can find more information on the official website, CLICKING HERE). I created the writing with a simple "Sans serif" font and then I reworked everything by creating thin dotted lines, similar to those found on asphalt roads in various parts of the planet.

Then I moved on to creating a more abstract element. I thought that the most correct choice was the creation of a “particular” Y, made by crossing two rods with the appearance of roadways. I started by creating a long rectangle and adding a center dotted line.

I enlarged both figures, reaching, on one of the two, an almost double dimension in width. I then repositioned both in the position you see in the figure, to form a sort of Y.

I, therefore, replaced the simple Y present in the word "Incidenty" with the new, more abstract shape.

The result gave me a slight annoyance: the spaces between the letters weren't balanced enough, and I decided to tweak them a bit. I didn't get an excellent result, but it seemed to me at least more acceptable.

The wording thus reworked has replaced the one previously created. At that point, I added the final touch: the choice of colors and the descriptive writing. I decided to put two colors for the creation of the logo, using the darker one also for the writing. The text "Segnaletica stradale" is in Italian, something equivalent in English could be “Road Signs”.

Finish!

And nothing, I'm done for today too. Repeating the usual mantra: the name “Incidenty” doesn't follow any existing subject, nor does it refer to anything real. In these initiatives, I propose combinations that are often paradoxical, in strong contrast to each others, or with ironic tones. I emphasize: the terms used are not meant to be offensive in any way.

Segnaletica stradale alle prime armi

Per questa iniziativa ho pensato a dei servizi in ambito segnaletica stradale, giocando un po' sui significati delle parole nella mia lingua madre. La scelta definitiva è ricaduta sul nome “Incidenty”. Vediamo i vari passaggi della creazione.

Per prima cosa ho aperto la suite di grafica vettoriale che utilizzo, l'open-source Inkscape (puoi trovare più informazioni sul sito ufficiale, CLICCANDO QUI). Ho creato la scritta con un semplice font “sans serif” e ho poi rielaborato il tutto creando delle sottili linee tratteggiate, simili a quelle che si ritrovano sulle strade asfaltate in varie parti del pianeta.

Poi sono passato alla realizzazione di un elemento più astratto. Ho pensato che la scelta più corretta fosse la realizzazione di una Y “particolare”, fatta dall'incrocio di due aste dall'aspetto di carreggiate. Sono partito creando un lungo rettangolo e aggiungendo una linea tratteggiata centrale.

Ho ingrandito entrambe le figure, raggiungendo, su una delle due, una dimensione quasi doppia in larghezza. Ho quindi riposizionato entrambe nella posizione che vedete in figura, a formare una sorta di Y.

Ho quindi sostituito la Y semplice presente nella scritta “Incidenty” con la nuova figura più astratta.

Il risultato mi dava un leggero fastidio: gli spazi tra le lettere non erano abbastanza equilibrati e ho deciso di ritoccarli un po'. Non ho ottenuto un risultato eccelso, ma mi sembrava quantomeno più accettabile.

La scritta così rielaborata è andata a sostituire quella precedentemente realizzata. A quel punto ho aggiunto il tocco finale: la scelta dei colori e la scritta descrittiva. Ho deciso di utilizzare due colori per la creazione del logo, usando quello più scuro anche per la scritta. Il testo “Segnaletica Stradale” è in italiano, qualcosa di equivalente in inglese sarebbe “Road Signs”.

Finish!

E niente, ho finito anche per oggi. Ripetendo il solito mantra: il nome “Incidenty” non ricalca nessun soggetto esistente, né si riferisce ad alcunché di reale. In queste mie iniziative propongo abbinamenti spesso e volentieri paradossali, in forte contrasto tra loro, oppure dai toni ironici. Lo sottolineo: i termini usati non vogliono essere offensivi in alcun modo, ne ledere i diritti di alcuno.
