MCGI Mass Indoctrination Program Day 5// Held on Friday 23rd June.

Greetings, Brethren, I believe that all of us are good. Today, I wish to tender this publication in response to our recent engagement in the community regarding Pastor Eli's continuity in His teaching about prayer.

In this 5th day of the Mass Indoctrination program, Pastor Eli expounded his teaching on prayer through the following scriptures below as we can distinctly go through below.

1 Cor 7:3-5, Isaiah 58:6-8, Matt 6:12, Matt 6:16-18, Heb 13:4, 2 Pet 2:14, 1 Pet 3:7, 1 Tim 5:8, 1 Cor 11:4-7, 1 Cor 11:8-15, Eph 5:28, Prov 19:14, Prov 18:22, Col 3:19, Eph 5:33, I Pet 3:1,6, 1 Cor 7:14, Luke 1:5,6,15.

1 Corinthians 7:3-5 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.-kjv

In this scripture, Pastor Eli emphasized on the things that could hinder people's prayers. Now, couples are to give due attention to each other and never refrain from attending to each other's psychological, emotional and other needs.

It is meant that couples are no longer two but one and such, they are only permitted to refrain from each other only at periods of seeking divine presence but this doesn't entail that they aren't permitted to leave each other probably to provide for the material needs of the family.

I have observed that there is this scenario of blame and being suspicious of each other when couples deny themselves their marital homage. The man and the woman have to understand and define the meaning of their engagement as a body so as not to give room to the devil as they could resort to the Bible for a better guide because marriage is not supplementary rather it is complementary.

So for the prayers of any couple to be heard, they must see each other as one and mustn't also deny each other of their marital engagements.

Isaiah 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?-kjv

From this scripture, God was specific about what he wants from us for our prayers to be heard. The conclusion of this is about love. There are no answers to prayers when we hate others, when we harbor evil against others and when we cannot give to those in need.

When we learn to do what God demands from us, God will begin to do what we ask from him.

In verse 8, we will observe the promises of God that we will break forth like the morning and also be in good health as his glory manifests in us. So if we do the things that pleases him according to this scripture, He will do the things that he also promised according to this same scripture.

Finally, I observed through this scripture as Pastor Eli ministered that acts of benevolence is also a means of prayer and not utterances alone so we must be kind to others for God to attend to our own need as it's said in; Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.-kjv so God reciprocates to us according to our demeanor to our fellow men.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.-kjv

This is part of the things that hinders the prayers of people. Marriage is an institution of God even as the Church is also an institution of God.
When there is no fear of God in marriage concerning spouses bringing their concubines to their matrimonial beds in the absence of the other, it stops the prayer of whoever that is involved whether the man or the woman.

I also learned through this scripture as Pastor Eli taught that there is no answer to the prayers of an evil doer rather it is the judgement of God into eternal darkness that is awaiting him even as written in 2 Peter 2:10-17.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.-kjv

This scripture is specifically for men. We are to provide for our respective homes if our prayers must be answered. A man once told me that whenever his children come to him for things beyond his limit, he also goes to God in prayers requesting him to attend to those needs. This is how it should be in the home, God will be the last person who will establish an empty family.

Men are to reach out to God through prayers, concerning the needs of their families and when these needs are provided, they have to make them available to their homes and not to play pranks with them probably telling their wives or children that there is no money when they have enough to take their concubines to hotels and like places. So it displeases God to have irresponsible men in the home who lack the courage to take the bull by the horns in the family.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 11:4-7, the scripture emphasized on the need for women to have their heads covered when praying and it is also on record that it is an abomination for men to grow or keep long hairs.

So I learnt from this scripture as Pastor Eli taught, that prayer is also a principle and for our prayers to be answered, we must maintain and also follow those principles while praying.

I wish to draw the curtain at this at this point, as Pastor Eli would rightly say "this topic is very vast". Well prayer has a lot to say but when we live a righteous life and also maintain a positive demeanor towards our fellow men, God will definitely come to our rescue in times of need.
