Earthquake update 021021
At a glance it appears the west coast california and west texas area all shaking thismorning, the red dots represent quakes within the past hour so lets take a quick look.
2.9 Ridgecrest
3.5 San Leandro
2.5 Bella Vista
Offshore there is a Mag3.0 on the Juan De Fuca plate, along the fault line between the Blanco Fracture Zone, President Jackson Seamount, and Blanco Saddle.
Mag2.2 near Chickaloon, British Columbia
I like using Google Earth because not only can I look from far away, but I can zoom right in.
Talk about a birds eye view! Likely these smaller quakes only disturb the birds.
One day I hope I can visit Alaska, I would want to fly over in a helicopter to get a better view.
There have been a number of quakes all around Alaska recently, the earth is always moving!
