The white ink Experiment
Hello Everybody! Today I'm back with another engraving post. Last time I shared with you the process of printing my lamb and heart engravings. Well, this Wednesday i thought of experimenting using some scraps of black paper I had laying around. So I fetched some white ink to see how it would look. Spoiler alert: it looks awesome.
While inking the matrix i realized the ink was way too sticky, so after cleaning them I had to put some lineseed oil to make it more runny.
Since the black paper was thin, instead of soaking them as usual, I just damped each sheet with a cloth and applied some pressure.
And it was ready to go through the printing press. I had very little paper, so I only made five prints. I love how the look, so im totally making more of them. I even liked them more than the previous version on white paper and black ink.
Now I'm planning to make similar prints of all of my engravings on drypoint, and then move on to make some linocuts, and of course I will be sharing them over here.
The print I like the most is definitely the heart, the detail looks very good and clear.
Thank you for reading me. The pictures were taken with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 cellphone.
