Gone are the days of songs of hope,
we no longer hear victory chants,
for our soil has become barren,
our hope as dry as withered leaves,

we came from Sodom through Gomorrah,
out of Egypt, to the land of promise,
stories of plenty we were told,
but now, its tears over laughter,

cries of pains of hunger is all you'll hear,
still we march, with stomach filled with nothing,
trying to make it out of the wilderness,
in search of the land which has honey streams

day and night we walked,
still we find this land not,
we should turn away from this god,
his promises has only brought us desolation,

we should just go back,
back to Egypt, to plead,
we would endure the whips,
for we no longer want hunger as meals.
