My favorite movie of 2021 so far

Today I want to fill you in on a new movie. A few weeks ago a movie called Kate (starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was released on Netflix. This film slipped under the radar for me at first, but I eventually discovered it on my Netflix feed. I was first intrigued by the poster for the film. It was colorful, had a car on it, and I saw some Japanese imagery with Woody Harrelson.

Little did I know, this movie was even more perfect for me than I imagined. Once actually watching the film in its entirety, I realized that it was a blend of many of my favorite things.

It was a similar plot to one of my all-time favorite films Crank with Jason Statham. The main difference was that the protagonist was a female instead of a male. Then we can also add in the fact that it was based in Osaka, Japan. It was set during modern times, but I couldn't help but feel similarities to Cyberpunk 2077. Woody Harrelson's character was named V, just like the main character in Cyberpunk 2077. Plus some of the tuner cars were oddly reminiscent of the styling of many of the vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077.

This film is action-packed and enjoyable the entire way through. Watch my video to hear more about what I thought about the movie.
