Average at best 📸

Yesterday I posted about how I wasn't a fan of Biomutant. That opinion will not be changing, the game just wasn't for me. I already deleted it and got my money back for it. I did however capture quite a few photos during my 3-4 hours with the game.

Although the game was downright boring to me, my main character was too cool to not snap some shots of. Creating my custom Biomutant animal creature was a lot of fun. It is too bad that once I got to playing the game, I just couldn't find a way to enjoy what was going on.

This will be my final Biomutant post, but at least I can share with you pretty much the only part of the game I enjoyed. Here are some shots of my weird-looking blue animal thing.

^{Here I am climbing some chain after defeating these little bug things down below. It is too bad the climbing animation looked so wonky. From some angles, my guy wasn't even touching the chain.}

^{The inventory menu was pretty dreadful, but at least it gave you the option to disable the UI and take some photos of your creature with a bright blue background.}

^{The Jagni clan was as samurai as it gets. Their armor looked pretty cool and I decided to align with their dark aura. Too bad I couldn't stand the dialogue with their sifu and had to skip through all of it.}

^{Speaking of the Jagni sifu, here he is chilling on this throne. He looked like a little panda thing.}

^{This was one of my mounts, a jet-ski-like aquatic vehicle. It handled fine and was way faster than swimming, but there was nothing special about it.}

^{This is me leaving an empty area that I was meant to explore. I think after 15 minutes of digging through random garbage cans and dumpsters, I maybe fought three enemies. At least I got this super lame hat out of it.}

^{You'd think after defeating a massive creature like this one, I'd feel pretty accomplished. Not really, it was so easy. All I had to do was dodge every once in a while and just stay back and shoot with my super weak gun until the monster was dead.}

^{Hands down my best memory with the game is the fact that every time you find a new fast travel post, you pee on it to mark your territory. This was genius considering animals actually do stuff like that. It quickly lost its coolness after two or three points were discovered.}

^{This is the first photo that I took while playing. I couldn't help but be disappointed by the visuals. I was expecting things to be high resolution and gorgeous, but everything just looked muddy and hard on the eyes.}

^{During one of my flashbacks to my youth. These parts were so lame since you basically just walked around and had to listen to your Mooma and Popsi talk. Yes that is actually what your mom and dad's names are.}

^{I loved how the sprint action made your character get down on all fours like an animal. The only thing is, the sprint animation would continually stop although I was running in a straight line with no obstacles in the way.}

^{This outfit looks pretty cool, but there was so much useless junk in between. I have been spoiled with the excellency of the outfit quality in games like Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man. I thought the clothes in Biomutant were wack.}

^{The animal fur could have looked so much better. From far away it seemed kind of cool, but once you got up close not so much.}

^{The character creator did give you a few different fur type choices and at least let you pick whatever colors you wanted. I went with blue and green, but wish there would have been some more options.}

^{This was the first mount that I unlocked. He looks pretty awesome, but his run animation was pretty funky.}

Final Verdict 🥉

I honestly cannot recommend this game. It looked cool from afar, but much like the graphics... that just wasn't the case once I got hands-on time with Biomutant. I'm glad that my curiosity is no more, but I'm sad this game was such a missed opportunity.
