I rode on a motorcycle for the first time ever today - (Harley Davidson)
Today was the first day we had true 70+ degree weather here in West Virginia, since before Christmas. So of course my girlfriend and I were headed outside as soon as we awoke this morning. We had been out relaxing in the grass for about 20 minutes when we received a surprise visit from her father, who lives about an hour away. He made is own introduction with a screaming Harley Davidson, no prior notice needed. Such a cool dude, the ideal ”gf’s dad” to get to know.

I had never even been offered to ride a motorcycle before, finally I was offered my first chance today. Luckily my girlfriend had an extra helmet in our storage basement, she went on a 10 minute ride first, I followed afterwards. I had no idea what to expect.
Thankfully it’s a lot easier to win it is to pilot the bike itself I’m sure. I was just focused on enjoying the sun beat against my body. It was yet another matter of keeping the core tight and staying balanced, much like kayaking and jet skiing. You don’t have to worry about flying off around corners, and really only need to hold on to the person if it makes you feel better. Unless of course they are really hauling ass.
I learned a few important things only a real biker would know. One being if you see a bike on the side of the road with the rider’s helmet on the ground behind the back tire, then they are asking for assistance from another biker. Street bikers tend to not be aware of this rule most of the time.
I will say that I loved how it felt when gears were shifted, you could truly feel the power. Of course the same goes for when the throttle was pulled down hard, the power is incredible to witness. I see why so many people get hardcore addicted to obtaining powerof all sorts. of all sorts.
I still think I’m more of a car guy, however I truly respect bikers and know they have a lot of fun too. I would gladly accept a ride anytime.
Are you a biker?
