Teaching Children Without Attachment

Surrendering our expectations of others does not mean that we cannot still actively aim to teach them, like our children, correct?

We just have to dial into Right Speech, understanding the right moments and the right words to use towards that effort, without angst or tension of how it will turn out.

Yes, that's accurate.....

Eliminating cravings/desires/attachments/wants/expectations for others to be a certain way is to, eliminate the longing and yearning, eliminate basing your feelings on what people choose to do or not do.

And in the case of a child, you are still guiding them to learn and grow but not doing that with a longing and yearning.....so that if they do not do what you teach them, the mind is not then discontent with unskillful conduct.

Instead, one will need to maintain their peacefulness and joy, regardless of what their child is or is not doing at any specific time.
