I hate commercials. I really do. Ads have their function I guess, but at a certain point I think the way we're surrounded by them has gone way too far. The way the actors smile or sound cheerful is just sickening. As if I'm actually supposed to feel happy like they do in the commercial after buying a tire or buying some dish soap? Like it's such a weird form of roundabout fancy begging in my humble opinion. It just feels fundamentally wrong. Those actors get paid thousands and sometimes millions? Unbelievable. I honestly miss infomercials these days, something about that form of advertising at least seems a bit more honest. But short little ads telling me why I have to buy the latest cookie, or frozen pizza or a trash bag just seems like a wild waste of time and resources. I love frozen pizza don't get me wrong but yeah idk. People say attention spans are dying nowadays but I could argue as soon as commercials arrived in 15, 30, or 45 second increments we were all doomed.

I don't think we should have zero ads but idk, ads at such a massive scale seems like a huge misstep society has taken. Like how desperate are these people to get 1 percent richer? I saw some ad about a lady requesting a 'shopper' at a retail place and I wanted to throw up. The lady requesting the shopper seemed deeply satisfied and the worker smiled the whole time like bro what world do people actually live in and what problem do people really think this service is solving? Crazy!!! I swear the Amish were ahead of their time.

Meh. But yeah it's hot so I felt like venting or something. It was on the milder side for a bit there but now it feels like nature is reminding us all that it's indeed summer. Thank God for AC at least.
