Oil Painting - Sandy Turn
Here's an oil painting I did last year after a hike along the Four Mile Run trail in Arlington, Virginia. There was a nice curve in the stream and a sand bar had built up on one side. The county had installed large rocks on the opposite side to reduce erosion and there was a nice overhanging tree on the curve of the creek. There was so much green in the original photo that I used as a reference that it was tough simplifying the scene. I've been looking at it on my drying shelves since last fall and still can't figure out if it is done.
What do you think? Done?
