Soaking in the Vibes of Kampong Glam Before April Ends
I always thought April was all about the rain... I mean, my TikTok feed has been flooded with content about how people are feeling about the weather lately. And honestly, I can relate to most of it. But now that April is almost over, I feel like we could really use some good weather. Thankfully, the past few days have been great, and I’ve felt a bit guilty for not making the most of it. So, while I was passing through the city, I decided to drop by the Kampong Glam area to soak in the vibe.
Kampong Glam is definitely one of those spots in the city with an amazing atmosphere. From the quirky shops to the laid-back pubs, it’s the place to be for food or drinks. It’s not too atas (overly fancy), so it’s a space where everyone can feel comfortable hanging out.
For me, it’s the perfect place for a casual photowalk—or even to film a few TikTok videos.
I chose this place to film short clips because of the variety of subjects I can showcase. From the Sultan Mosque to the vibrant murals, bustling shops, and restaurants filled with lively conversations, I couldn’t ask for a better backdrop for my TikTok video.
I really enjoy transitioning between these different subjects—it adds a lot of fun to the editing process. Walking around the area is enjoyable too, thanks to its welcoming and laid-back atmosphere. Sometimes I even forget that Kampong Glam is located right in the heart of a busy shopping and office district. It often feels more like wandering through a quiet neighborhood, especially when strolling through its charming alleys.
Here are the TikTok videos that I created during this night. I converted them to YouTube shorts to make it viewable here in PeakD interface. I hope you'll enjoy the videos!
Kampong Glam never fails to offer a refreshing escape from the city's fast pace, with its rich culture and vibrant energy. Whether you're into food, history, or just capturing moments on camera, there's always something inspiring to discover. I’m glad I took the time to explore—and I’ll definitely be back for more.
