The One When It Rained

Do you normally bring an umbrella with you when you go out?

It was Saturday. My friend Penny and I decided to catch up in Makati. She'll travel all the way from Valenzuela to Makati simply to be with me, so at first, I was hesitant.

I offered to meet halfway, but she refused. If my friends, including Penny, are willing to travel that far for me, am I that special?

We had lunch at Glorietta. It took us about two hours to choose where to dine since we couldn't make up our minds! We ended up having Little Kaya and Reyes Barbecue. We were starving that we forgot to take pictures. Lol.

We decided to visit Assembly Hall after lunch. It is a coffee shop that transforms into a cocktail space called Here After.

Assembly Hall is the place to go if you're searching for a place where you could work and party afterwards.

It is located near Makati City Hall. It's on the second floor of the HMA773 Building.

Inside, we were greeted by the signage 'Coffee'. Since it's only afternoon, there are no available cocktails.

Good thing it was not crowded when we got there. And oh, Assembly Hall is also available via grab food!

While Penny's looking at the menu, I took a picture of this signage 'AH'. It reminds me of @jijisaurart since her former name in discord was jiji_ah. I wonder if she's affiliated with Assembly Hall? Hmmm.

Since Penny loves matcha, she ordered the iced Matcha latte and sans rival cake. I picked their best-selling hot campfire latte and blueberry cheesecake.

She planned to purchase silvanas, but she ordered sans rival. Lol. I liked the hot campfire latte. It's a double shot of espresso, dark cocoa, and marshmallow with brown sugar on top. However, it is too sweet for my liking, so if you don't like sweet drinks, this one is not for you.

We took a picture outside of the coffee shop before leaving. There's a huge mirror where for sure launched a hundred mirror selfies... or more? Nice strategy to market their shop!

After that, we head on to BGC. Penny wanted to have a tour, and as a BGC girl, I'll be her tour guide.

We went into Typo to hunt for cute things to buy. These notebooks caught my eye. References include Gudetama and F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Cuties!

Next stop: Zara. Penny's looking for a small version of her perfume in Zara. Since the Zara branch in BGC is a bit big, we got tired of browsing for clothes, so we decided to have dinner nearby.

That evening, it started to rain, making hot ramen the ideal dinner. Ramen Nagi is my go-to ramen restaurant, and Penny has yet to try it, so we chose to dine there.

Even when we have finished eating, it is still raining. Neither Penny nor I had our umbrellas with us.

Because it's a Saturday, BGC is hosting another live performance. Adie's live!

Fortunately, even though we forgot to bring our umbrellas, we were still able to see and hear Adie perform live! However, it would be great if we had umbrellas so we could go near the stage and see him better.

Even though it was raining, a large crowd patiently watched Adie perform live!

That night, the rain didn't stop, but that didn't stop us from moving from one place to another.

Walking in the rain as we made our way from Fully booked to Muji to Jamba juice was enjoyable. I was worried that Pen might miss the train that night because it was getting late. Luckily, her cousin and his girlfriend were around the area and agreed to accompany her.

A lot happened that night! We really enjoyed walking in the rain (it was dramatic but fun), but at the same time, we were also afraid that we might catch a cold lol. Thank goodness we didn't.
