Paper-cutting / creating shadow...
Here's my adaptation of one of the projects included in my first paper-cutting book.
The book is entitled Creative Paper Cutting (Cheong-ah Hwang)
When I attempted this some time ago I hadn't tried paper-cutting before but I liked the presentation of the book and put it on my wish list... I don't think the book is for beginners as some of the projects are incredibly detailed and use specialist papers.
I learnt a lot about the techniques and tools used and in the photo you can still see the black pencil marks. In my next project I managed to avoid that by drawing the design on the wrong side.
I felt that the book offers a number of ideas and projects that go beyond the cutting of a silhouette. In fact, there's a 3-D bird that I don't think I will ever be able to emulate; it's so delicate and beautiful.
