Fermented Pee

I was reminded about peeing in bottles again by Hive account@meesterboom's post tonight. If you recall I did this a few months ago as I literally had no choice. No wait I have done it once before that a very long time ago. Maybe I am a serial bottle pee-er. Don't know if that is right as no red line appeared under that word lol.

About 30 years ago maybe a little longer in fact ,but 30 sounds better for this one. I was in the Army and being bottom of the ladder with no rank you get all the jobs no one wants. We were in the Army stores doing stock take and it was taking forever. Imagine 100 guys being placed in a huge store counting everything. Some of the guys were real simpletons who hadn't seen street lights before joining the Army and now you are giving them sheets of paper asking them to count. The world had gone mad and we were on about the sixth recount.

This was taking days and some of us thought it was just a time wasting exercise as they had no other work for us. It could have been, but I wouldn't trust half of the guys to count to 100 let alone count items that had four zero's after them. This was the last day for the count and we were running out of time. No tea at 10 am as we were locked in until at least lunch time. (our teas were legendary,platters of toasted sandwiches)

I asked for permission to go to the toilet and was given a definite no with a smile. I thought fine as I will find something or somewhere to relieve myself. Luckily the shelves obliged by showing me 1000's of army issue water bottles, you know the green ones that hook on your belt. I kindly obliged and filled one and put the cap back on and placed it with the other thousand or so on the shelf.

Fast forward 18 months or so and this bottle has been sitting in a store that reaches 40 degrees on a regular basis has just been picked up by someone who is issuing out gear to new recruits. Luckily or unluckily we happened to be close by as we were handing gear back and leaving. The guys who worked with me knew straight away that this was the special bottle and were curious to see how this one was going to play out.

The smart genius of a store man didn't put it back and grab another one, but started to untwist the cap. There was a fizzing noise and a pungent smell which was our cue for leaving with big grins. So pee does ferment under the right conditions ,but is not recommended.
