A beginner's guide to reading the bible - MCGI TOPIC|THE OLDPATH

For the word of God to effectively sink into the heart of men it demand that the heart be willing and open. The reason some people have a hard time understanding the word of God is because they try to reason every single thing with their own human understanding. We don't achieve a lot success when we do so.

‎We should not see the God’s Word as just a combination of words. We do not read the word of God with our minds but with our hearts because that is what God is intends to reach out to. It is through those words He speaks to us but we can only hear Him if we are attentive in our spirits.

‎Striving to understand entirely everything we read especially as beginners may not really be possible. We would definitely be left with questions, no doubt. But it is something we should commit our time to. We should not be in a rush when we study it. Sometimes all we may need from God in a day that would be enough to take us that day could be just a verse in the bible, and that's all.

‎It's not really by how much we are able to read in a period of time but how much we are able to understand. And we should not forget that it is continuous thing, so we should be consistent in it.
