Writer's Block Jock

“There's no such thing as writer's block.
That was invented by people in California who couldn't write.”

- Terry Pratchett

It's always something...

I know I have something important to say...

I just can't seem to recall what it is! Or, maybe, how to say it?

Excuses, excuses...

Maybe if I eat something...?

~

You say you're fighting writer's block?
It's got you in its vapor-lock?
And so you're pausing to take stock
Of why you're here?

At times words flow without a care;
The ink's not dry; another's there
So easy—it just isn't fair!
But now—
You're here.

Why here?
Why now?
That deadline looms
While nascent thoughts stall in their wombs
As you imagine countless dooms
And gasp for air.

Breath deeply!
There's no need to fear!
The muse is running late this year;
Undoubtedly she'll soon be here
To ease your care.

A writer's life is full of joys
For every weight, a counterpoise
So, Join us!
All you girls and boys!
Adventure rare awaits.
