Dancing Like A Dream [Dance][Ballroom]

Enjoy these inspired dance photos, hot off the press. Last week I performed a Foxtrot routine with my partner in a studio showcase. This routine was meant to really capture the Frank Sinatra style of the song we were dancing to.

We're really lucky to have our health that we can share our talents in dance with others. It takes years of training to get to a level where a pair of dancers even start to look natural in their movements together, and we are very pleased to have so many photogenic moments appear throughout this show.

I teach, perform, choreograph, and compete in Ballroom, Swing, Latin, and various partner dances professionally in one of the best ballroom studios in the country, and it is rare that I have quality photos or videos taken so I can share my work with others.

Dancing is a gift meant to be shared. It transports our thoughts into fantasy with the music and characterizations. The embrace with a partner can often remind us of what it once felt like to fall in love, and to give your trust to a person who is your opposite. When mistakes happen, we also practice to laugh and smile about them, and continue on as if nothing bad happened, because to dwell on an unpleasant perspective of the past only holds us back in the moment to available possibilities.

In the highest level of technique of well-practiced dancing, every moment is felt instinctively. No worries are held onto of timing, order of choreography, or remembering to do anything. It simply happens, and we enjoy the ride, and play.
