Watercolour illustration: Santa Forest

In this watercolor illustration I was inspired by the beauty of nature and I was thinking of Santa Claus after I watched a Disney movie with Jasmine flying on the carpet. I felt inspiration so I imagined a fairytale character -Santa Forest. He is released from an elephant lamp.

The human mind is extraordinary and I am amazed how the human brain can make interesting associations, including mine. As usual I started with paper, watercolor and an idea. No sketch, just free imagination spilling on the paper. Let me tell you who Santa Forest is...

Santa Forest is the magical elf guardian of the forest, the grandfather of all the magical creatures.

He is living in an elephant lamp and he is released whenever the forest spirits need his protection.He can speak with hedgehogs , mushrooms , caterpillars and he can understand the music of the oak leaves when they fall.

Their symphony is actually wisdom passed on to the trees for the next year to come. Santa Forest is the sacred guardian of the oak tree .

In order to protect him, the elephant lamp is always carried by a magical flying carpet which travels all over the world at the whispers of the oak leaves sent as a signal for help from any forest in the world.

When Santa Forest comes to the rescue he starts to speak with the forest and her creatures and he restores the balance of the ecosystem.

I love the forest and I can only hope that such magical creatures who protect it exist somewhere, in the unseen realm of our reality...
