somewhere
lusty and sensual
taut and sinewy
soft and sweet
i'd be happy to write it for you
if only you were around to read it
it's not that i forget about you
background noise
blending with all the other desires
that drown out the question
of what the inside of your lips taste like
and how it feels to sit with you
under the stars
the waves of your soul
crashing against my skin
my cells
my innermost membranes
real, you
maybe
one day
a dream the next
i like the dream
better the dream
than the ebb tide that would take it away
once you became real
if
you chose
one day
to become real
