Trans-Mongolian Railway - 20 Aug 1998 - Day 1
Day one starts from Beijing leaving at 07:27 passing The Great Wall of China & stopping at Jinin South and then Erehot, where the carriage bogies are changed for the wider gauge for Mongolia and Russia (China uses the 4' 81/2" standard gauge, while Mongolia and Russia use the 4' 11 27/32") The train then continues into the night through Mongolia.
