Ingredients
🍫 10 Zebra Cakes (or your favorite chocolate and vanilla marbled cake)
🍫 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
🍫 1 cup white chocolate chips
🍶 2 tablespoons heavy cream
🧂 A pinch of salt
Instructions
1- Prepare the Cake Base:
- Unwrap the Zebra Cakes and crumble them into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands or a fork to break them into small, even pieces.
2- Form the Truffles:
- Mold the crumbled cake into 1-inch balls by squeezing and rolling the mixture in the palms of your hands. Place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3- Chill the Truffles:
- Refrigerate the cake balls for about 30 minutes to firm them up for easier coating.
4- Prepare the Chocolate Coatings:
- In one microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. In another bowl, do the same for the white chocolate chips.
- Microwave each bowl separately in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted.
5- Coat the Truffles:
- Dip half of the chilled cake balls into the melted semi-sweet chocolate, using a fork to roll them and ensuring they are evenly coated. Return them to the parchment paper.
- Repeat with the remaining cake balls, but dip them in the melted white chocolate.
6- Create the Zebra Stripe Effect:
- Drizzle the opposite chocolate (white on dark and dark on white) over the truffles using a fork or a small piping bag to create a zebra-like pattern.
7- Cool and Set:
- Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate them for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
8- Serve:
- Once set, serve your Zebra Cake Truffles in decorative paper cups for a delightful presentation.
