CBRS Podcast 35 | Hive-Echo changes - Community Highlights - Call for Prayer
Hello Hive
Hey everyone, welcome back to the CBRS Podcast! We’re pumped to bring you Episode 35, straight from our studio with some fresh vibes and exciting updates. This week, we switched things up with cool RGB mats and LED lamps to give our setup a new look. It’s all about keeping things lively and fun, just like our community!
DappList and Community Engagement
We kicked things off with our weekly DappList, where we saw an awesome 114 votes on . Let's keep that consistent energy above 110, which we love! This Friday, we’re spotlighting the @VSC.Network on the DappList, so make sure to check out the article and cast your votes. Thanks to @Hivetrending who was working on @Commentrewarder the voting period has been extended to six days instead of 3, giving everyone more time to comment, upvote, and snag those rewards. It’s all about giving more chances to our amazing community!
Wheel of Fortune Gets an Upgrade
Big news for our Wheel of Fortune! Starting next week, we’re shaking things up to make it fairer and more exciting. Everyone who participates gets their name on the wheel, but here’s the kicker: if you post a video every day for five days, your name gets entered five times! That’s five chances to win. We’re still deciding whether to stick with two winners of 25 HIVE each or switch to five winners of 10 HIVE each. We’re dropping a poll to hear what you think, so let us know!
This week, we spun the wheel and shouted out our winners: ,
,
,
,
. Congrats, you all scored 10 HIVE from our friends at
! We had a blast watching the wheel spin, and it’s so cool to see so many names in the mix.
Tackling Farming on Hive
We also got real about something we’ve noticed on @Hive-Echo posts and also on our Dapp voting articles. Some accounts seem to be “farming” rewards by only commenting for rewards without engaging in other ways. We get it, everyone wants to earn, but we want Hive to be about real community vibes. We’re looking at setting rules, like requiring a minimum reputation (maybe 30 or 40) to be eligible for rewards. This way, we encourage genuine participation, like posting, commenting, and sharing what you love. We’re checking comments manually to keep things fair, so let’s keep the Hive spirit strong!
Hive Community Highlights
The Hive ecosystem is buzzing, and we’re hyped to share some updates:
@SkateHive is killing it with their open-source app for phones and browsers. Their creative promos, like coding while skateboarding, are next-level! They even painted an electricity box with Skate Hive style—super dope next to a skate shop.Hive Hub Guatemala is bringing the energy with vibrant colors and hard work. We saw videos of @Ninaeatshere and @Starkerz painting and prepping, and it’s amazing to see their progress. Let’s make more noise for them, reach out to us so we can amplify your posts!
Hive B&B Idea: We had a lightbulb moment while chatting with a friend who runs an Airbnb. Why not create a “Hive B&B” where hosts accept HBD? Pair it with WorldMapin to put Hive-friendly spots on the map. It’s a cool way to bring crypto to more people!
Splinterlands and NFTopia
Shoutout to for launching ahonex.com, an auction house for @Splinterlands cards. They’ve already hit 50 completed auctions—way to go! Splinterlands also tweaked their black foil card system, now requiring eight potions for a better shot at snagging one. And mark your calendars for #NFTopia on August 16-17, an online event featuring 60 Wax and Hive projects. Be there or be square!
InLeo Drama and Father’s Day Vibes
We touched on some drama with InLeo pulling their votes from DHF proposals and voting on the Return Proposal to make it more difficult for other proposals after their proposal didn’t get enough support. It feels a bit like foul play to us. Hive thrives on community, not power plays. Let’s keep supporting each other! InLeo’s also dropping their 2.0 update on June 18 at 6 p.m. EST on X, so stay tuned for what’s new.
Oh, and a big Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! We had a laugh when one of us got a Father’s Day shoutout despite not being a dad :P
A Moment for Agdroeds’s Family
We wrapped up on a serious note. @Aggroed shared a post asking for prayers for his family, and our hearts go out to them. We don’t know the details, but we’re sending all our love and support. We ended the podcast with a moment of silence for them, and we’re here for you, Aggy.
