CBRS @ BuzzParty2024, Hamburg
Trip to Hamburg
Before we even set out for Hamburg, we faced quite a bit of misfortune. To begin with, @artakush accidentally bought a ticket for the wrong date, the 19th of March. Realizing his mistake, he hastily purchased another ticket, only to find out that it was again for the same incorrect date, the 19th of March. This mishap was quite frustrating for him, and he was initially reluctant to buy yet another ticket. Fortunately,
@minigunner stepped in and generously bought the tickets for Art just one week before our scheduled meetup, ensuring that the CBRS Team could attend the #BuzzParty2024 without any further issues.
But the complications didn’t end there. On the day before we were supposed to leave, @edb posted a message in the BuzzParty Discord channel. In his post, he mentioned that he planned to drive to Hamburg the following morning. After a brief discussion and considering all the effort and money already spent on train tickets, we decided to join him and travel by car instead.
The following day, @minigunner and
@artakush took a train to Utrecht to meet up with
@edb. From there, they embarked on their road trip to Hamburg. The drive was surprisingly smooth and after about seven hours, they arrived in Hamburg at the venue. There, they met up with
@tibfox, rounding off the journey on a high note. The relief and excitement of finally making it to the venue, despite the initial setbacks, were immense.
Preparing for The main Event
As soon as we stepped out of the car, we headed straight into the nearby bar and ordered ourselves a refreshing cold beer—the first of many German beers we planned to enjoy that day. After a quick drink, we assisted Tibs in unloading all his equipment from his car and transporting it to the event venue. Once everything was set up, we ventured over to what we playfully call the 'Kingdom of Tibsia'—Tibs's home.
At Tibs's place, we picked up some pizza and, of course, more beer, and then settled down comfortably on the couch for a well-deserved break. However, as the night wore on, we remembered that we still had to prepare our famous Cold Beetroot Soup, and it was already midnight. Below is a video showing how much fun Marius and Art had while making the soup for everyone to enjoy.
The day of the Event
In the morning, we all went to our meeting spot, and we weren't the first ones there. Lots of people were already there, enjoying a cup of coffee, getting ready for #BuzzParty2024. Minigunner and Artakush kicked off their day with a nice cup of coffee and some Captain Flint rum 😁 That's when we knew it was going to be a huge party 😁
After everyone showed up, we headed over to the Elbphilharmonie building. It's a tall building, and to get to the top, you have to ride a long escalator. From up there, you can see the whole harbor of Hamburg.
Once we finished walking around the building, we gathered downstairs and went for a boat ride. It was awesome! Tibs arranged the boat trip, complete with a fridge stocked with beer. We had a guide who not only shared interesting facts about the harbor's history but also joined Hive. 😁 I hope he finds us 😁
Following our lengthy boat ride, we began our journey to the venue. It only took us 5 minutes on the metro and a 10-minute walk to get there. 😍 Once we arrived, we excitedly entered the venue's bar and started chatting and mingling with everyone. As everyone chatted away, Artakush, Minigunner, and Tibs got busy preparing lunch and setting everything up for the speakers. After just a short 30 minutes, the presentations began. It was a quick turnaround, but they managed to get everything ready in time.

After that, it was CBRS's turn! We took some time to introduce ourselves and share about the team behind CBRS. We proudly showcased the projects we've been busy working on, and, of course, we discussed our flagship project,
Next up was
Even though it was his first time presenting,
Like always it was great to see @Detlev on the stage. He was talking about his project #Beersaturday and how it all started. He is organizing an event as well so we can't wait to hear all about it.
If there is a Hive event then you will most shurly see
Let's not forget about @Ecency! We are glad to finally meet
Last but not least we had
After all the presentations, it was time to check out all the awesome Hive merchandise. And let me tell you, it looked fantastic! I've never seen merchandise disappear so quickly. Almost everything was snatched up within 10 minutes, haha! Then, one of the bartenders from the bar came over and told us we needed to wrap things up quickly because we had exceeded our time limit, and they needed to open the bar to the public. It was amazing to see the power of teamwork in action. All the Hivians pitched in and helped carry everything to Tibs' car in just minutes. A big thank you to everyone for your assistance! 😍
Dinner Time
In the place that was discovered by the organizers, we had a chance to dine at the Greek place which brought incredible experience to us through a guy called Vasilij, he was the owner of the place, that served us not only, pleasurable meat, but company, that none could resist.
Beersaturday
"While approaching the well-lit place, we were struck by the vibrant culture and the people we could make acquaintances with. We have tried several beers for the great @detlev and we hope we brought the energy needed for the party.
P.S. @artakush has witnessed someone leaving their boxers behind after leaving a brownie on their boxers, cleaning themselfs and then continuing with their party. I guess it's just another German experience."
CleanThePlanet
Thanks to @bechibenner's magic herbs our motivation skyrocketed and we were ready to clean the path we have taken.
While participating the @cleanplanet company throughout the time on the beach picking garbage, we have discovered that we always get in to groups and try to find ourselfs confortable doing things that people do.
CBRS Treasurehunt
With the assistance of Tibfox, we managed to put together a small Treasure Hunt for everyone who attended BuzzParty. We're thrilled that at least three Hivians decided to participate and really get involved in the game. A big thank you goes out to @louis88,
@ynwa.andree, and
@solarwarrior for their dedication and effort in solving the puzzles. Congratulations on finding the answers and winning your prizes!
Bus ride around Hamburg City Center
After a long walk at the beach it was really nice to finally sit down, relax and enjoy the view. @mypathtofire,
@ninaeatshere,
@artakush and
@minigunner were all sitting in the citytour bus and finally took the time to see the beutiful city of Hamburg.
The last Dinner
After two incredible days, we reached the final segment of our gathering. We all settled into a charming Portuguese restaurant, where we reminisced about the enjoyable times we had at BuzzParty and expressed our hopes of reuniting soon. The food was delicious, and everyone seemed content, but the moment had come to part ways and return to Tibfox's home. Following a restful night's sleep, Minigunner and Artakush headed back to the Netherlands, their hearts and minds filled with unforgettable memories.
