Working out on a Saturday just hits different e
Today I woke up feeling super lazy and weak. Both my mind and body had gotten very comfortable not indulging in tasking activities during the early hours of the days and I would always comply with excuses to back up doing nothing. This Saturday morning was also headed towards that very direction again. It rained heavily the previous night so the weather was quite cozy just in case one wants to kick back and relax.
I stood up from the bed at about 6:11 am to go brush my teeth but decided to sleep in some more as I was extremely enjoying the weather and my bedtime. After spending about an hour sleeping, I forced myself up with the intention to do something different - exercising a bit. I stretched for 2 minutes before trying to do the bare minimum of 30 push ups to kick start everything. Realizing I was struggling really badly to complete 20 clean pushes, I knew I needed a complete routine makeover. I brushed my teeth, took my bath and off I went to workout with the guys at the sports complex because their presence alone and the fact that I don't want to be out done would be enough motivation to keep pushing.
By 7:22 am I was already at the venue and boy was it packed with people so I knew it was going to be a rough one. We started off with the usual jogging which seemed difficult at first but with time my body started to revert back to its old self. The jogging took its sweet time to elapse and after we were done, I rested for a bit, I stretched every tensed part of my muscles I could before proceeding to the next challenge - Variations of pushups.
When I heard we were staying off with the very activity that forced me outside the house, I was already feeling like I was going to flunk out but to my greatest surprise I was matching with people who had been consistent with honing their physique. However I still fell short as I was unable to complete the last two sets.
After pushups we engaged in
- sit-ups
- squats
- Russian twists
- pull ups
- minimum heavy lifting
- dips variations and then ended it up with
- a one minute plank.
The workout was intense and just when we were about preparing to disperse to our various destinations, someone brought out a boom box and we all decided to dance off the pain. We continued for about an hour taking pictures of such a beautiful moment.
It was a very fun day and I am glad I left the house to exercise and mingle. This is definitely going to be a constant part of my Saturdays, sports complex better be ready cause I'll be back next week.
Stay flexy guys.
Thank you all for sticking to the end.
Gracias.
