Hi fellow Ranters,

Today I wanted to celebrate a milestone for the community!

800 and counting!

I don't look at some of the stats related to things because some of it I find that it's not that important in the grand scheme of things, aside from doing things like engagement. This one however was something that I thought was remarkable!

The Rant Complain Talk community now has over 800 subscribers! That's a pretty significant milestone for me! I wanted to see if I could get it to 1,000 by the end of the year but I don't know if that's likely to happen which is fine! I know we will get there!

I think there are a few reasons for this but one of the most significant reasons is, I think, the incredible promotion by the wonderful Hive account@erikah in her discussion with people throughout the Hive blockchain! She's always hunting out posts to engage and curate on but what she often does is suggest to people that they might find a good home for their content in the #RCT community! Huge thanks to you Erikah!

What I find a lot of fun with this growth in the community though is the completely variable types of content that get thrown in there! I know it's good to have themed content such as Outdoors, writing etc. but one of the things that I really wanted to see was an all-purpose community built and flourish with really not any rules about specific content. There are definitely communities that are out there for that type of stuff but I don't think any that are as completely broad and open-ended like the #RCT community which is great! I don't normally find the opportunity to fill a niche but it looks like I filled a niche here lol

It's been fun and really good to see it grow! For those of you who don't know the origins of the community, and many likely won't since it's been around for a while now, (going to be 2 years on 1/8/23!!) it spawned out of a comment exchange somewhere with Hive account@riverflows where she and I were bitching about not having a place on Hive to just let loose about some shit and complain to our hearts content about something we felt was wrong or ridiculous. Bam, the community was born! LOL It's been a hell of a fun ride since then and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing all the new faces and the posts in the coming weeks, months and years that it's going to be operational!

What's cool is this has been by far my most successful side-project that I've done here on the Hive blockchain and I love every minute of it! I'm glad that people are pretty chill and put out decent content. I've only had to mute 2 authors and 2 or 3 posts in the whole 2 years that it's existed! That's pretty good I think!
