Hunting the Victims

Ever notice the obsession in U.S. culture and empires in a general scapegoating the victim, the dispossessed, and the outcast? Even as a child it was clear in the newscasts, night after night reporting on the robberies by the minorities, the blacks and the hispanics. Now we build walls to keep out the needy migrants from the countries we've systematically terrorized and used as colonial fodder. In First Blood the soldier of a failed war is hunted as an animal. We create Islamophobia to dehumanize the Middle Easterners we've tried to subjugate for a century. Those in high places drink martinis and watch the sunrise while Rubin sits like buddha in a ten-foot cell.
