Birthday Card Artwork

There is something incredibly special about a handmade gift. While store-bought cards are easy, nothing beats the charm of a student spending their time and creativity to make something unique. For my birthday this year, I was lucky enough to receive this absolute masterpiece.

The Dynamic Duo
The card features two of the chillest animals in the kingdom, and the attention to detail is what really makes it shine:

The Sloth: With those large, soulful brown eyes and that gentle smile, this little guy looks like he’s having the best day ever. I love the way the fur texture was captured with those deliberate marker strokes.

The Koala: Those rosy pink cheeks are everything! The contrast between the bold grey and the bright green leaves shows a great eye for color.

The Effort: From the carefully drawn leaves at the top to the way the animals are perched on their branches, it’s clear a lot of thought went into the composition.

More Than Just Paper
As an educator, seeing a student channel their focus into a project like this is the best gift. It’s a reminder that the smallest gestures often have the most heart.
This little sloth and koala are definitely going on a place of honor on my desk. A huge thank you to my talented student for making my day a whole lot brighter!
