Last night we ate again at one of our favorite restaurants, Pescaria. Well it is not really a restaurant, it is a takeaway that offers the possibility to consume your food sitting inside the restaurant or even outside, when it is not particularly cold. The peculiarity in this case is that the waiters continually come out of the kitchen and call the order numbers, a number that is assigned to you immediately after ordering and paying the bill.

The wait is generally a few minutes and the food, especially if it is a sandwich, is served in paper packages, ready to be taken away at any time. Here the specialty of the kitchen is fish, so if you want meat or something else it is not the ideal place for you. The sandwich stuffed with salmon, tuna, swordfish or octopus is the true invention of the owners, creating a phenomenon many years ago that then spread a little throughout the Italian territory.

It is also possible to order a spaghetti dish with mussels or seafood, or there is a first course from the chef every day. Or enjoy an aperitif and sip a glass of wine. I prefer the sandwich because it is really very good, filled with genuine and fresh ingredients. Even the mayonnaise and ketchup sauces are homemade.

My son is now a lover of fish and chips, fresh breaded and fried cod, a pleasure for his fingers😊

Ieri sera abbiamo mangiato nuovamente in uno deo nostri ristoranti preferiti, Pescaria. Beh non è proprio un ristorante, si tratta di un takeaway che offre però la possibilità di consumare il proprio cibo seduto all'interno del locale o anche fuori, quando non fa particolarmente freddo. La particolarità in questo caso è che i camerieri escono continuamente dalla cucina e chiamano i numeri degli ordini, numero che ti è assegnato subito dopo aver ordinato e pagato il conto.

L'attesa generalmente è di pochi minuti ed il cibo, soprattutto se è un panino, è servito in confezioni di carta, pronto ad essere portato via in qualsiasi momento. Qui la specialità della cucina è il pesce, quindi se desideri carne o altro non è il luogo ideale per te. Il panino farcito con salmone, tonno, pesce spada o polpo è la vera invenzione dei titolari, creando molti anni fa un fenomeno che si è poi diffuso un po' in tutto il territorio italiano.

È possibile ordinare anche un piatto spaghetti con le cozze o frutti di mare, oppure quotidianamente è presente un primo piatto dello chef. Oppure gustare un aperitivo e sorseggiare un calice di vino. Io preferisco il panino perché è davvero molto buono, farcito con ingredienti genuini e freschi. Persino le salse alla maionese e ketchup sono realizzati in casa.

Mio figlio ormai è amante del fish e chips, merluzzo fresco impanato e fritto, una goduria per le sue dita😊
