Our Day at Dream Lab

Hey everyone on Hive, hope you're having a good one!

Let me share with you our recent educational experience during my son's field trip at Dream Lab. My son's school was the one that organized a visit to this incredible venue, and it was truly a day of discovery not only for the kids and the adults accompanying them.

They call Dream Lab the 'World's Biggest Business Simulation Playground,' and honestly? It's not just hype. Stepping in there, you really get this sense of a whole mini-world built for playing grown-up, business-style. Kids and even we adults totally get lost in it, like they're actually running their own little companies while playing. It's not just about pretending, either; they're picking up real-deal skills, without even realizing it, just by doing.

Located within Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, Dream Lab is a well-designed educational experience in addition to an amusement park. The Philippine Amusement & Entertainment Corporation (PAEC) created this cutting-edge, 4,000-square-meter facility with the goal of inspiring an entrepreneurial mindset in both kids and adults.

Waiting for their turn at the entrance.

Understanding the foundations of business is made easier with the Dream Lab. Its goal is to make the procedures involved in starting and operating a business less complicated and more interactive for young kids.

The House Rules

Dream Lab is a maze and a combination of education and enjoyment, and it's quite a challenging task to document every element during a busy group visit! With eager children darting from one engaging station to the next, we did our best to document the key attractions that sparked their imaginations and ignited their entrepreneurial spirits. Here is an overview of the main attractions:

  • Government Agencies: Interactive stations representing essential government bodies like the DTI, BIR, and DOLE, providing insights into regulatory procedures.
  • Essential services: there are also areas that represent essential services within a community, like a police station and city hall.

  • Business establishments: A variety of simulated businesses, from a market and pharmacy to a hotel and bank, allowing visitors to engage in practical, role-playing scenarios.

  • Creative Labs: Spaces dedicated to fostering creativity, such as the Creative Lab for design and production and ADS-venture for learning about marketing and advertising.

At Craft Lab, you can make your ideas real. They give you the stuff, and you turn it into something you made yourself.

  • Food-based business learning: There are also many establishments that allow for learning about food-based businesses, such as Snack Shack and Candy Republic.

They also have a workshop that will teach the kids and adults to make soap bars, dishwashing soap, and other products for potential business.

During their interactive play, I asked my child about their creation. Pointing to the photo, they explained it represented a community of people working together, hand in hand, to build a strong and prosperous neighborhood. That's deep coming from a child as young as him.

There's something quite special in moments like these, where I am seeing my child's imagination sparked and their understanding deepened, that makes parenting so rewarding.

I hope you enjoyed this little window into our day at Dream Lab.

Thanks for reading, and see you on my next one!

❤️❤️❤️
