Drillin the historic Sacramento River
Hey everyone! 👋 It's time for some more content, this time with myself and @ganjafarmer. We are out on the Sacramento River practicing a basic drill.
In this drill, one person attacks and the other person defends. How it goes is you start with a series of angles. We are doing it here with angles 1 thru 5. So 2 diagonal down cuts, 2 horizontal cuts and one stab.
It can be 1 thru 5 back and forth, and a pattern with 2 strikes that goes like 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, up to 5. Then 2/1, 2/2, 2/3 up to five. When you finish with 5/5, then you go 5/5, 5/4, 5/3, all the way back to 1/1.
This is a great way of running thru your attacks and see how the angles mix. You can use this as a template, and add the other angles, the system we are using here has 12, Giron Escrima. you can also run thru blocks or counters.
I personally do this by myself everyday. I have gone from not being able to make it thru without a break to 1 thru 8 right hand then left hand lead. I also do 2 weapons, and saber staff with this exercise.
Hope you enjoy! This is TheWay!
