Offline While Online!

Pages stained blank,
pens dried untouched
Forgot to feel, just watched.

Consumed by the light,
forgot all the shades,
Staring at the traffic;
as the rainbow fades.

So fixed on all the trends,
All of these so-called online friends;
Didn't have time to spare,
Time to write, time to care.

Inconsistent feelings,
headaches, Blurred out vision,
a world of fakes!

Yet, I worshiped that,
I tried to be that;
I needed makeup,
can't be ugly, can't be fat,
I just need to be those and that!

In my pictures, an auction of likes,
just be the doll!
I need to look perfect,
happy and okay,
Need to get new trends,
old ones don't stay.

I need to take pictures all the time;
Act dumb, act smart,
acting is our favorite art!
Why do I need to be enslaved,
just to be happy?

Well, even this 'happy' is arbitrary!

Why shorten soulful words
to a few random letters?
Why forget close ones
for a few almost-strangers?

Why need so much attention?
So much instant gratification?
Why need to go online
when we aren't even online?

Why forget to live sometimes,
yet still need to go 'live'?
Why forget the shelves of books,
poems unwritten, and colors alive?

Within a phone full of applications,
with no life?
