Jasper deposit
The largest jasper deposit in the Southern Urals. Orenburg Region, the outskirts of the city of Orsk. Locals call this place the quarry near Mount Polkovnik. The deposit has been developed for a long time, for about 200 years. But recently the demand for jasper has fallen, and its extraction is not carried out. Only tourists take stones as souvenirs. In general, jasper from this quarry was used in the construction of some stations of the Moscow metro and even for the decoration of the interior of the Lenin Mausoleum.
