I'm a beginner, so what?
A couple of days ago, someone said something to me that made me uncomfortable. They told me that I would never be a photographer if I didn't study at an internationally renowned school. That I had to improve before uploading content because it could be full of mistakes.
That didn't make me hang my head. I'm not ashamed to upload my content, even if it has mistakes. I'm a beginner, and I'm improving my content day by day. What's the point of keeping my content to myself until it's perfect? I want to show that you can start from scratch, improve, and perfect yourself in life.
A photographer is not born overnight. They are formed by preparing themselves, walking the world with their camera in hand, capturing what they see around them, transmitting and perfecting their technique day after day until one day, after so much preparation, a new Ansel Adams is born. Technique and practice are what make the master.
I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a beginner, that my work has flaws, and that I still don't know how to handle light. But everything comes little by little, with dedication, passion, love, and lots and lots of practice. I know I'm going to succeed, because my love for photography isn't something new; it's been with me my whole life. Dreams become goals, and my goal is to succeed and for my photography to fill people's souls, and nothing is going to stop me. Negative opinions give me more strength to continue, so thanks to those opinions, I am more determined than ever.
Here is a little more from the session with the copper-haired mermaid.
