This time, I'm sharing a short video about one of the most beloved and abundant birds here in Venezuela. Many species are known to exist. Here, in the video and graphics, we particularly observe the famous common pigeon, also known as the domestic, Asian, or feral pigeon. Its ancestral origins are in Eurasia and the northern part of the African continent.

I assume, without fear of being mistaken, that it is also very abundant in many countries, always giving us its simplicity and friendly characteristics. The scientific name of this beautiful bird is Columba livia.

The specimens I'm showing you today are a sample of some of this bird, which is always found at the top of the high school where I work and which occasionally descend from those heights and land on the ground, making it very possible to capture them both on video and in photographs. It's worth mentioning that this pair of specimens in the video were walking very calmly through the high school's central courtyard, so much so that I recorded the video, and they didn't even flinch at my presence. Others fly away just when I approach them.

The pigeon that appears in the photos is another specimen that occasionally makes its way to our homes. I also presume it's part of the community that always hangs out on the rooftop. It's curious, but most of the times we go out in the afternoon, there's always a beautiful pigeon hovering there.

En esta oportunidad les comparto un pequeño video sobre una de las aves más queridas y abundantes aquí en Venezuela, de la cual se sabe que existen muchas especies, pero en especial aquí en el video y las gráficas observamos la famosa paloma común , o también llamada paloma doméstica, asiática o bravia, la cual tiene su origen ancestral en Eurasia y parte norte del continente africano.

Presumo sin temor a equivocarme que en muchos países es también muy abundante, regalandonos siempre su sencillez y amables características. El nombre científico de esta bella sve es Columba livia.

Los ejemplares que hoy les muestro son una muestra de algunos individuos de esta ave , la cual siempre están en la parte superior del liceo donde laboro y que de vez en cuando muy seguido bajan de esas alturas y se posan en el espacio terrenal, haciendo muy posible su captación tanto en video como en fotografías. Vale la pena mencionar que este par de ejemplares del vídeo estaban caminandito muy tranquilitas por el patio central del liceo, tanto así que les grabe el video y ni se inmutaron con mi presencia, hay otras que salen volando solo al acercarseles.

Lapaloma que aparecen en las fotos, es otro ejemplarer que de vez en cuando está en el camino de ida hacia nuestros hogares, también, presumo que forma parte de la comunidad que está siempre en la azotea. Es curioso pero la mayoría de las veces que salimos en la tarde siempre hay por allí una bella paloma merodeando por allí.
