A bit of Victorian architecture from Surry Hills, Sydney : February 27 2026
Rainy day. Heading into the city for lunch with a friend. My wife came along - driving made for something of a walk from were we could park
Walk up Bourke Street past The Carrington Hotel. Have had lunch there once
Did give me a chance to get photos - nice artwork at Fanny Place Park. Too bad the tree is obscuring the head of the creature
Old corner shop - got rid of the red brick
Not sure what this place is. Some sort of a cultural centre - a play on words - all the Aboriginal people refer to older ladies as aunty
Houses are mostly Victorian terraces - some wrought iron remains
Dormer conversion on this one
Two semis built as a single building. They share an arch in the roof area but they have discrete arched doorways
The normal hotel meeting place had no beer - we had to go to the pub two doors down. They share a kitchen - ni change there. Bar itself is a little down at heel and not as convivial place to chat. Taylor Square opposite is being closed off for the Mardi Gras parade tomorrow. Seems that the staff was tired form getting ready - food was not up to normal standards
As it happens TV reporting of Mardi Gras came form a point opposite where wer were - Courthouse Hotel. We might be going somewhere different next month
Did the shopping on the way home. Had a friend coming over for a drink and a chat. Made a snack for dinner after she left.
Late night working on the ChatGPT Viral Cash Stack - preview tomorrow. Meanwhile check the bonus opportunity https://mclnks.com/viralcashbonus
