My Hometown°
There's a saying that goes this way: “No place like home.” This is the basis of everything I'll be discussing today on the theme for the Indiaunited current contest
A Place that Brings You Comfort?
Living and growing up with my parents was one of the sweetest parts of my childhood because my parents never bothered me for anything, I had excess freedom to play. But being a smart kid, I never abused this chance as I often excelled in school. This freedom from my parents gave me the opportunity to explore everywhere in my hometown. My friends and I had amazing moments at the river fishing, swimming and even game hunting with our best companions then, dogs.
Now I'm mature and most of those things we do now look childish to me but that doesn't change the fact that I still love my hometown. This is a place that brings me comfort. A few years after my primary education, I left my hometown for school in another state. I do visit my hometown at least once every two years and trust me, the feeling is always different. In the city where I stay currently, the circadian rhythm is boring; just wake up, go to school, return and flex only on weekends.
Now to the feeling I get from my hometown that makes it a place of comfort. Whenever I visit my hometown, there's this river we go to wash our family car, swim and make temporary tents. It's a flowing water body with a clean and transparent look. It's a place one can't forget spending vacation with family. At this particular stream, fishes are rare because of how transparent the water is but one can always see turtles which most times come to play with humans at the shore.
During school breaks, I do visit my hometown with the mentality that I'm going to have work-free, comfortable and memorable moments. My hometown is blessed with streams, wildlife and rocky mountains. These are places one can spend a lonely time, enjoying fresh air and appreciating the good works of nature. At the mountains, one can have a top view of the savannah and even the animals that roam about the bushes and shrubs like rabbits, antelopes and in rare cases lions. My hometown is a place where one needs no alarms. Animal sounds like the chicken crows in the early hours of the morning serves as the best and reliable alarm.
These great blessings of nature have made my hometown a place of attraction for tourists. My hometown is a busy place, a place one can connect with outsiders. I can remember meeting a Ghanaian friend once at the bush meat spot where we both went to buy meat. One amazing fact about my hometown is that the price of things are cheap because almost everybody is a producer, lol.
My friends at school are always eager to give me money to get locally made beads and leather bangles anytime they discover that I want to visit my hometown.
It's absolutely a place of making memories, making friends and living a comfortable life.
This remains my entry for the indiaunited contest.
