About a year and a half ago, I stopped working on my herbalism business completely. I told the world that it was because I really needed to focus on building my house. And while that was a good enough reason to pause my business, it was not the entire answer. An associated factor was that I was discouraged by the social aspect of running a business. Pitching my products to local stores gave me anxiety and trying to team up with a partner was fun ... until it wasn't.

I decided to just leave it alone for a while. The biz I had slowly been building for three years took a backseat to my other goals. But, not anymore.

For the past 5 months or so I began to wonder how much of my content as a content creator was fueled by a desire to make money? I started to feel a faint sense of paranoia that rely on my income from this website and a couple of others was not sustainable for my future.

Most of all, I began to miss my mornings spent packaging orders and preparing bags of herbs. I missed the every other Mondays I used to spend making shampoos and salves with my friend. While that friendship seems beyond repair for the moment, the rest of the picture is possible.

I still have all my herbs, waxes, and packaging from my old business. But, I don't want to simply step back into the old format. And I definitely don't want to be the same person I was back then: shy, afraid of social interactions, and worried about the opinion's of others.

That is where witchcraft comes in.

And witchy crafts will definitely be more a part of my business than it was before. For the first few years I only sold one type of product: dried herbs in little packets and only really sold to one store: the shop that I used to work. And now that the spark is alive again, I want to focus on making candles, florida water, and soap rather than focusing solely on dried herbs as I used to.

For now and for the weeks ahead I am starting small with two simple steps: reactivating my social media presence for that long-abandoned account and making lots and lots of candles.

This re-boot of my herbal business (now herbal + candle making business) is going slowly because I only have three molds for candle making at the moment. But, I feel a fire inside of me that give me the confidence that slowly building on the work I have already done is the path. This time though, I will tread this path with confidence.
