In the Fields of a Flower Farm💐🌻

Herblore is everywhere. In books, in backyards, and - of course - in a field full of flowers. This week I had the opportunitity to spend a day helping out at a flower farm in my hometown in Northern California. I had been there once before, two years ago, and was amazed to see how the once vacant lot has been transformed.

Transformed into what?

A world of flowers, tomatoes, and even some grains too.

This place is actually a demostrative farm, a splace where elementary school kids go for field trips. While there they can harvest & eat tomatoes off the vine. They can see butterflies and bees visiting the flowers. They can even interact with chickens and goats.

After a couple of hours of weeding and clearing paths, my gardening mentor asked if I was in need of any seeds. As an herbalist, witch-y girl and herb lover I am always in need of seeds and so I gathered Calendula (obviously), red yarrow, and hollyhock.

Each has their own history of generations grown at small gardens like this one. Each has their own folklore and medicine too .... and that will be the subject of tomorrow's post! See you then.
