Cusco, Two Faces from the San Cristóbal Viewpoint

(Eng) Hello photography community! This time I want to show you two faces of Cusco, from the San Cristóbal Lookout. To get there, you climb the steep “Calle la Resbalosa,” which takes about 11 minutes if you’re not affected by the altitude—otherwise, it might take a bit longer. Luckily, I already have my Andean lungs! Once you reach the San Cristóbal lookout, it’s a must-see spot. From there, you can continue hiking to the Sacsayhuamán ruins, but that’s a story for another post.

First, I’ll show you some photos I took of the city’s main square (Plaza de Armas), which during Inca times was a place for ceremonies and festivities. Later, in the colonial period, it became a place of churches, markets, and now it’s very commercial.

You can see the Church of Jesús de la Compañía, which was founded in 1571.

(Esp) Hola comunidad de fotógrafos , en esta ocasión vengo a mostrarles dos caras de Cusco, desde el Mirador San Cristóbal, subiendo por la empinada Calle la Resbalosa a 11 minutos si no sufres por la altura , tal vez te tome un poco mas de tiempo, yo ya tengo mis pulmones andinos, llegaras al mirador San Cristobal, una parada obligatoria luego puedes continuar una caminata hasta las ruinas de Sacsayhuaman esa sera otra historia para otro post.

Primero les muestro las fotografías que tome de la plaza de armas de la ciudad, que en epocas de los incas era un lugar de ceremonias y festividades, luego en la epoca de la colonia cambio a ser un lugar de iglesias, mercados y ahora muy comercial.

Ahi se puede ver la Iglesia Jesus de Compañía, que fue fundadada en 1571.

(Eng) Now I’ll show you the other side, from the lookout at Nevado Ausangate, the highest mountain in Cusco. This snowy peak reaches an altitude of approximately 6,384 meters (20,945 feet) above sea level. It’s truly beautiful—you could spend a long time just admiring it. There’s also a six-day trekking tour around the mountain, which is a unique and unforgettable experience.

(Esp) Ahora les muestro la otra cara desde el mirador el Nevado Ausangate, la montaña mas alta de Cusco, Este nevado tiene una altitud de aproximadamente 6,384 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Es realenbte hermosa puedes quedarte contemplandola durante mucho tiempo, tambien hay un tour que diea 6 dias de caminata una experiencia unica.
