CNN Gives Spotlight to Controversial App Developer Activist

CNN provided a platform for an activist app developer whose latest creation alerts nearby users to sightings of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

The developer, Aaron, launched the app—called ICEBlock—in early April, responding to President Donald Trump’s intensified immigration crackdown. The administration’s policies have sparked nationwide protests; a CNN poll that month found 52% of Americans believed Trump had gone too far in deporting undocumented immigrants.
