Sunday Joy

Hello you all,

is there anything better than to look at Joy sitting in a bunch of pretty daisies?

My dog is my constant reminder of how life should be. Sunny, pretty, at ones own pace. In challenging times we often pass by the little but nice things. We have to focus on them. Little situations like Joy refusing to leave for a walk, rather enjoying the sit in the daisies, is one of those moments.

Joy is at peace with himself and I admire that. Of course, I have a huge part in his current state. His confidence only built up when he came to us. As with us humans, relaxation comes with confidence. Trust in people and in yourself.

I am proud that I can see his trust in these pictures. He's paying attention to me, knowing that even though I'm about to call, I won't take his moment away. When I think about it I have to giggle, because every bulldog owner knows that. They just need time, want to sit and watch. Joy often just stops while walking. Then he wants to look at the surroundings. Patience is required as the owner, they don't do it to annoy you, at least not every time lol, but that's typical of the breed. It is wonderful when you personally manage to muster all the patience in the world unconditionally.

What you get back is pure trust, something real, something that we humans are losing more and more to each other.

I know it's there because I feel it every day with Joy. I feel it with the dogs at work. If that feeling could be transferred to every living being the world would be better. Us humans have a long way to go as it seems but lucky everyone who can experience moments of trust and joy.

My life has ups and downs, just like yours. The sea is stormy and we have to take the waves as they come. Todays pictures make it easier for me as they remind me to focus on the little, nice moments.
