Hello, friends of Shadow Hunters, welcome to my participation in the Smash contest round #385. This time, the shadow I want to share with you was quite coincidental and interesting. It turns out I went to see the presentation of one of my students' community project at the UCV Botanical Garden.

This garden is a kind of mini plant lung for the city of Caracas, compared to Cerro Ávila. However, this garden preserves Venezuela's main collections of tropical plants and part of the plant biodiversity of the Caribbean basin, making it a reference point for the study of the taxonomy and morphology of higher plants. So I went early to attend my tutee's presentation. Dawn was breaking, and while I waited for the jury to arrive, I immersed myself in the foliage of the plants and found this brilliant shadow cast.

Since Venezuela is a country sandwiched between two types of biomes, the Caribbean and the Amazon, stratifications emerge that combine cloud forest trees and royal palms, creating a magnificent canopy of vegetation that casts these interesting shadows when the morning sun hits the tree canopy and also on small shrubs, which are more commonly found in areas near the coast.

After taking the photographs, the evaluation of my student's project began, and he successfully approved it. So, as you can conclude, it was a pleasant activity for me to do that day. Not only did I help my student complete a stage of his training, but I also found a collage of shadows generated by the botanical garden plants that I wanted to share with you in this post. Que tal amigos de Shadow Hunters bienvenidos a mi participación en el concurso Smash round #385. En esta ocasión la sombra que quiero compartirles fue bastante casual e interesante, resulta que fui a ver la presentación del proyecto comunitario de uno de mis estudiantes en el Jardín Botánico de la UCV.

Este jardín es una especie de mini pulmón vegetal que tiene la ciudad de Caracas si lo comparamos con el cerro Ávila, pero en este jardín se preservan las principales colecciones de plantas tropicales de Venezuela y parte de la biodiversidad vegetal de la cuenca del caribe, así que es un punto referencial para el estudio de la taxonomía y morfología de plantas superiores. Entonces fui temprano para asistir a la presentación de mi tutoreado, estaba despuntando el alba y mientras esperaba que llegara el jurado evaluador me sumergí en el follaje de plantas y encontré la proyección de esta genial sombra.

Como Venezuela es un país que se encuentra intercalada entre 2 tipos de biomas, el caribeño y el amazónico, surgen estratificaciones que combinan arboles de bosque nublado y palmas reales creando una magnífica bóveda vegetal que proyectan estas sombras interesantes cuando el sol de la mañana incide sobre la cúpula arbórea y también sobre arbustos pequeños que son más frecuentes encontrarlos en zonas cercanas a la costa.

Después de tomar las fotografías comenzó la evaluación del proyecto de mi estudiante y lo aprobó exitosamente, asi que como pueden concluir fue una grata actividad la que me tocó realizar aquel día, no solo ayudé a mi estudiante a concluir una etapa de su formación, sino que además encontré un collage de sombras generadas por las plantas del jardín botánico que les he querido compartir en esta publicación.
