Seeking Hive Power Leases for SGS

The SGS Community Curation Project has leased Hive Power to boost its Upvotes since its inception back in 2018. The idea has always been for the @ssg-community account to provide a service and redistribute value back to the SGS members via Upvotes rather than accumulate wealth for itself. Because of this its Hive Power has always been in a perpetual state of Power Down with the Curation Earnings effectively just going back towards leasing more Hive Power. The project is well over 5 years old now so at this point it’s pretty safe to say that it's a stable and proven model that works.

In the past we’ve leased Hive Power through dlease or even it’s predecessor (which I forget the name of). We also started out with a few Off-Market Leases via handshake agreements with various Whales but as the project has matured we’ve been able to get a lot of our leased Hive Power from SGS Members internally. I confess to Delegating a large amount of my own personal Hive Power a couple of years back. It was a pretty straight-forward Win – Win decision at the time (and still is) because the @ssg-community account has saved funds by not paying commissions to dlease and the deal has also been a nice stable passive income for me at 13.5% - which is better than I can earn by curating content myself.

Anyways, the Hive Power for @ssg-community to Upvote with has been very consistently around 210,000 to 220,000 HP for years now and the Curation Earnings on the account are also very stable. We could easily just keep going the way we are but there is possibly some additional funds coming in from future community fundraising efforts and so there may be opportunity to take on some additional leases in the very near future. That’s what this post is about – putting the word out and finding any extra Hive Power HOLDers out there who may want to lease their power to SGS.

My thinking is that we put together a kind of Waiting List for people who want to lease us power and then if/when the funds become available from fundraising then we can work down that list and take on the leases with the ability to start the payments straight away. The terms of the leases are 13.5% APR paid weekly, in advance, with a minimum amount of 5,000 HP per lease. SGS Members are preferred but you do not need to be an SGS Member to get on the Waiting List.
