Google Cloud has officially joined the TRON network as a super representative. This will make TRON the latest addition to Google's BigQuery analytics service.

Google has already committed itself to supporting a number of other public blockchains including Avalanche, Arbitrum, Cronos, Fantom, Near, Optimism, Polkadot, and Polygon.

Harnessing BigQuery, users can make on-chain queries, such as determining the number of NFTs minted, or comparing transaction fees across different supported chains.

What Is TRON

The Tron network is composed of 27 "super representatives", which are elected by token holders from a set of potential validators. These representatives are the ones responsible for validating transactions on the network. Google is just the latest one.

Tron has been a controversial blockchain since its inception - you either love it or you hate it. Considering the hostile takeover of STEEM by TRON founder Justin Sun back in 2020, a number of HIVE users have a negative perception of this particular blockchain.

That said, we cannot deny that TRON has become the leading blockchain when it comes to stablecoin circulation, particularly Tether.

Major Corporations To Run Validators On Other Blockchains?

It is an interesting development to see major tech companies starting to run validators on public blockchains.

In the future, could we see other companies joining public blockchains as validators? For example, might we see corporations like Amazon, Microsoft, or Digital Ocean joining their decentralized counterparts such as Akash or Flux? If so, we could see a huge power shift from traditional corporations to decentralized networks.
