In our continued DePIN series, today we will be talking about Dabba Network, a project which aims to solve the problem of limited high-speed Internet access, specifically in underserved areas of India.

Similar to Helium, XNET, and World Mobile Token, Dabba Network uses token incentives to crowdsource wireless infrastructure.

As of Feb 4th 2026, Dabba has more than 500,000 users consuming over 1,000 terabytes of data on a daily basis, and the community has deployed 75,000 WiFi hotspots in just 18 months.

In February, Helium, XNET, and Dabba Network offloaded a total of 37K terabytes of data combined, a 12% increase over the previous month, showing that demand for decentralized wireless networks is growing:

Hotspot owners earn the respective project's token for keeping the wireless hotspot operational, as well as for the amount of data that flows through it.

Token Generation Event

While Helium and XNET have already created their tokens, Dabba Network has yet to launch theirs, and have been awarding hotspot owners credits in the meantime.

That said, there was "pseudo confirmation" by Karam Lakshman, CEO of Dabba Network, on the latest episode of the Deep in DePIN podcast, that their Token Generation Event (TGE) will likely occur next week.

That means the hotspot owners will finally be able to convert the points they've been earning for years into DBT tokens on the Solana blockchain.

More Upcoming TGEs

Wingbits, a DePIN project that has been building out a decentralized flight tracking network, has also announced that their TGE will be taking place in the coming weeks (April 22nd, to be precise).
