January 6, 2021 pipe bombs: something does not add up

According to a recent, well-sources Revolver News report pipe bombs discovered in Washington, DC mere minutes before the start of the breach of the Capitol complex by rioters had mechanical timers with the operational duration of one hour. There was a bomb planted in front of the DNC and RNC buildings, one each. According to the official story, they were planted the night before. But now we hear they were timed to explode just as the 2020 Election confirmation hearing was set to start at 13:00 (1 PM). One bomb's timer apparently even got stuck at the 20 minute mark thus effectively preventing the device from detonating. Neither device had any remote control capability.

I am not sure what to make of it but it makes no sense if one were to believe that the group behind the riot planted those. After all, how could they be sure they wouldn't be discovered by security services before? Plus, who would be sure that they would be able to start the timer at the right moment (which would be about 12:00 on a clearly busy day)?

Whatever the truth is, this seems to be one of those stories where the official story seems to be a cover rather than a true narrative. I am sure I will be covering this more going forward but for now I think my assessment of the whole official narrative of the events of that day is getting an upgrade from, shall we say, 80% suspicious to 90% suspicious.
